Desert Drama (A3 size)
A3 size, pen and pencil original piece.
Mounted on acid free mounting card and housed in a black wooden frame with a perspex window.
I finally got round to buying an A3 sketchbook, only to finish one drawing in this size before moving up to A2. Slow your roll, son. Truth be told, I'm eyeing up A1 sketchbooks. Naughty.
This is my first drawing after splashing out a big and expensive pencil set. So many colours, so much blending opportunity (explored progressively in later pieces). Another evolution within this picture is how I began to change my pen shading, as well as reoutlining my work after colouring it in.
I started to feel like I was finding my niche - and it helped to embolden my work.
Here we also have my first work that has a lot of wordplay, puns or turns of phrase within it.
- Palm Tree
- Swab the deck
- Dog fight
- Camel through the eye of a needle
- Meatball Sub
- Burger slider
- Fire Hydrant
Oh yes, my art has evolved, and so have I. Soon i'll be able to breath underwater like Kevin Costner in Waterworld.
